Located in the front of the groin into the leg on the inside quite high.

Pain in the inner groin at the front. Pain in the groin when lifting the leg forward when walking.
What is The Function of the Pectineus?
The pectineus muscle helps lifts the leg upwards (flexes) Draws the leg inwards (adducts)
The Pectineus also helps to stabilize the leg preventing it from externally rotating when the leg is flexed at the hip.

Origin:
Pectineal line of the pubic bone.
Insertion:
Pectineal line of the femur

The pectineus muscle is the most anterior adductor muscle (Pull leg inwards).
